    MAE MICAELA TAY, FOUNDER

    Mae first graduated with a BA in Early childhood Education at the University of South Australia. Her teaching values are very much influenced by the Reggio Emilia Approach, using art as a tool to observe, to make meaning and re-create new ideas and beyond.

    She has taught and designed the atelier program as a visual art specialists in early childhood preschools as well as private studios. She was trained locally at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and also overseas at The International School of Painting, Drawing, and Sculpture in Umbria, Italy as well as The Florence Academy of Art, Sweden.

    As self-development is an implicit part of her personal and professional growth, she applies her certificated training in Positive Psychology, as an extension to broaden her works with young children.

    With more than 15 years of experience teaching art, she has worked with a wide range of children and youths. Mae is well known among them and parents for her warm and pleasant disposition, always ready with a smile to nurture.

    SATAWAT BURANASILAPIN, CO-FOUNDER

    Satawat (Pang) holds a Master’s Degree in Architecture from Chulalongkorn University. Having worked with various top design firms in Singapore for more than 20 years, he has a wealth of architectural and interior design experiences today.

    Pang has won numerous design awards such as Singapore Institute of Architect Architectural Design Award, Royal Institute of British Architects Awards, Southeast Asia Property Awards, The Chicago Athenaeum Int’l Architecture Award, Housing Development Board Singapore Innovative Design Award.

    Pang believes that creative and analytical thinking is crucial, not only in the aspect of design and innovation, but an integral part of many facets of life and professions.

    Since his past role as a Design Leader in architectural firms, Pang has always enjoyed spending time mentoring young architects, helping them to realize their true potential.

    He believes that creative and critical thinking should be taught from young. He considers himself fortunate to be raised in a family that embraces the arts. He was raised in the architecture and theatrical arts environment as a child. He fondly remembers his childhood memories and learning experiences, which he attributes them to his success today.

    Hence, Pang desires to use his expertise as a professional architect, and his natural love for constructive play to the next generation. He hopes that with the learning program he designs for The Drawing Mint, children will be able to make their childhood learning, a life-long and meaningful one.
