Mae first graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education with the University of South Australia. She worked as an early childhood educator using art as her teaching tool at pre-school and studio settings. She has trained locally in the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts as well as overseas in The International School of Painting, Drawing, and Sculpture in Umbria, Italy, The Florence Academy of Art, Sweden.
With more than 10 years of experience teaching art, she has worked with a wide range of children and youths. Mae is well known among them and parents for her warm and pleasant disposition, always ready with a smile to nurture. Her approach to teaching is very much influenced by the Reggio Emilia Approach and she is interested in using this method as an alternative learning tool for her students’ various learning needs and styles.
