Mae first graduated with a degree in Early childhood Education at the University of South Australia. Her teaching values are very much influenced by the Reggio Emilia Approach, using art as a tool to observe, to make meaning and re-create new ideas and beyond.
She has taught and designed the atelier program as a visual art specialists in early childhood preschools as well as private studios. She has trained locally in the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts as well as overseas in The International School of Painting, Drawing, and Sculpture in Umbria, Italy, The Florence Academy of Art, Sweden.
As lifelong learning is an implicit part of her personal and professional growth, she applies her knowledge and training in Positive Psychology and Mindfulness as an extension to deepen her work with her students.
With more than 15 years of experience teaching art, she has worked with a wide range of children and youths. Mae is well known among them and parents for her warm and pleasant disposition, always ready with a smile to nurture.
